TIME Magazine
TIME Magazine this week reported that my Real Housewives of New York City tag line, “I never feel guilty about being privileged”, means that I am insensitive to today’s economic realities. If I could add to my tag line, I would say “and I am grateful for everything I have!”
Champagne and gourmet doggy treats to celebrate our Highland Terrier Aston’s first birthday? Why not? At least I didn’t charge our guests for attending! Aston is a well-behaved and much loved member of our family. He regularly attends small gatherings and often is the life of the party. I am fortunate to be able to pamper my pet while supporting many worthwhile charities, including, as many of you saw on last week’s RHONY show, the American Cancer Society. I am constantly aware of the abundance in my life and I understand how hard it is to make a living, especially during tough economic times. That is why, whenever I have the opportunity, I share my time and my resources to help those less fortunate than me. So my darlings, does this mean I’ll stop living la dolce vita and deny those I love, including my little Aston, wonderful parties to celebrate life’s milestones? Absolutely not.
Tip: Give as much as you can. Although you might not have the financial resources right now to give to charity, you can volunteer your time or help a friend or family member in need. This is how to live the good life.
